The Wageningen University & Research (WU-ATV), is an internationally leading education and research organization, and the largest in the Netherlands focusing on life sciences (non-medical).
Wageningen Universiteit, Wageningen, The Netherlands
Worldwide, it is placed number 75 overall and 17 in the life sciences (21 and 5 in Europe, respectively) according to the Times Higher Education Ranking 2011. Systems Biology is one of the spearheads of the WU-ATV in its strategic plan 2010-2014, having established both the Chair of Systems & Synthetic Biology and the Centre for Systems Biology, combining wet and dry disciplines under one roof. The main focus of WU-ATV is to perform modeling and integration, and providing computational modeling expertise for the development and application of both top-down and bottom up modeling approaches to design experiments, analyze data and build models of different types to tackle the various datasets and experimental settings planned. This will also involve assisting in the analyses of shotgun proteomics and will direct the computational analyses of genomics and transcriptomics activities.
