Research at KI has a strong European dimension, with several hundred project participations within the EU’s FP6 and FP7. The work will be conducted at The Center for Infectious Medicine (CIM), which is a well renowned strategic research center at KI and that is focused on translational research within immunity and infectious diseases. CIM offers advanced facilties for multicolor flow cytometry and front-line imaging technologies, including advanced confocal and multiphoton microscopy, and computerized image analyses. The KI Analytical Core Facility which has extensive experience in applications of mass-spectrometry-based methods, will perform metabolomics analyses to investigate mechanisms of diseases in clinical samples.

Karolinska Institutet is responsible for Work Package (WP) 5, WP6 and WP9.
